Excellence in Training Award
Des Plaines Valley Council

The Des Plaines Valley Council Excellence in Training Award recognizes those units, which have met a high standard in leadership training. Studies prove that youth stay in BSA programs longer when they have trained leaders who know how to make the program fun and exciting.

A ribbon streamer for the unit flag can be awarded each calendar year that a unit achieves the goal of 75% direct contact leaders fully trained in their registered position. This award will be presented at the district roundtable following council confirmation of the unit’s award application.

A custom plaque is presented the first calendar year a unit achieves the goal of 100% direct contact leaders fully trained in their registered position. Each year thereafter that the unit achieves this goal, a year device for the plaque will be presented. This award will be presented at the annual district dinner following council confirmation of the unit’s award application.

Direct contact leaders include:

plaque
Cubmaster Scoutmaster
Assistant Cubmaster Assistant Scoutmaster
Webelos Den Leader Varsity Coach
Assistant Webelos Den Leader Assistant Varsity Coach
Den Leader Venturing Advisor
Assistant Den Leader Venturing Associate Advisor
Tiger Cub Den Leader Skipper
