National Youth Leadership Training
The Des Plaines
Valley Council’s National Youth Leadership Training Conference will be held
Sunday, June 10th to Friday, June 15th, 2012 at the Scout Adventure Camp in Rochelle, Illinois. The course is open to youth in a Boy Scout Troop or Venturing Crew.
The annual conference is an exciting six day outdoor adventure and provides the participants with the tools to be successful leaders. The conference is coordinated by Course Coordinator, Buzz Lapcewich, Course Director, Greg Novak, and Assistant Course Director, Bob Mervine, who have all been trained and certified at an NYLT Course Director’s Conference.

Boy Scouts must be at least 13 years old or completed seventh grade, First Class rank, and two years of summer camp experience. Venturers should have long term tent camping experience. All participants must have completed Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops or Introduction to Leadership Skills for Crews within their scouting unit. The program is a week long tent camping adventure for youth in a Boy Scout Troop or Venturing Crew who want to be leaders.
Graduates of NYLT are eligible for a scholarship to help offset the costs of attending NAYLE at Philmont National Scout camp. See the NAYLE web page.
