Webelos

The Webelos Rank: For 4th and 5th Grade Cub Scouts

The Webelos rank is earned after the Webelos program is completed during the Fourth and Fifth Grade. Cub Scout Leaders approve only a few of the requirements, while the parents approve the majority, which are indicated in his book. When the Cub Scout has completed the requirements for the rank, he receives the badge of rank in a ceremony during the monthly pack meeting.

Note that there is now a second option for the Webelos Badge: an oval shape. Both badges are identical: same requirements, same prestige. Which one is awarded is a matter of personal preference.

The diamond badge (the old standard) is worn on the left pocket of the blue or tan uniform shirt with other badges of rank on the pocket. A spot is available for this Webelos badge if the boy didn't participate in Tiger Cubs.

The oval badge (the new option) is also worn on the left tan uniform shirt pocket. When this is worn, arrow points or rank badges from the Tiger Cub, Wolf, or Bear programs aren't included.
