Cub Scout Roundtables
Monthly Roundtables are conducted by each district to provide the latest program information, guidance, and a forum for the sharing of experiences and resources. All leaders from the Cub Scouting program in each district are invited to attend. This is a great way of sharing information and bringing it back for each unit to use. Here is information about what to expect at each district's roundtable meeting.
What is it?
The aim of Roundtable is to provide the will and the skill to do. If leaders have these two things, they can succeed, and they will continue succeeding.
The will to do in the form of morale, enthusiasm, and information is distributed regularly (for the will to do is perishable). The skill to do in the form of skills, program ideas, techniques, and information is taught a piece at a time (for there is so much to learn).
A roundtable is:
- fun
- practical
- inspiring
- full of skills
- loaded with techniques
- brimming with program ideas.
Who Attends Roundtables?
Roundtables are designed for all leaders, i.e., Cub Scout Leader Roundtable should be attended by Den Leaders and their assistants, Webelos Leaders and their assistants, Cubmasters, assistant Cubmasters, Tiger Cub Coaches, and pack committee members. Scoutmasters, assistant Scoutmasters, and troop committee members should attend Boy Scout Leader Roundtable. Webelos Den Leaders should be included for selected programs.
Unit Commissioners attend the roundtables in which their leaders are involved. This may mean dividing their time between Boy Scout and Cub Scout leader roundtables.
