Wood Badge for the 21st Century

Wood Badge is the highest level of training available for Scouters. Wood Badge in the 21st Century is designed to give Scouters the tools they need to provide the highest quality scouting experience for the youth in their units. It is based on contemporary leadership and team building concepts in use in American business, and is designed for Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Varsity Scout, and Venturing leaders, as well as District and Council leaders.

Cubmasters, Scoutmasters, Venturing leaders and all their assistants who want to provide the best Scouting experience for their youth members.

Unit committee members who want to be sure that their Scouts are getting all that they can from Scouting.

Commissioners, Council and District committee members who want to be sure that we are all "delivering the promise."

To attend Wood Badge, you must:

  1. Be a registered BSA leader.
  2. Have completed Fast Start and the required training for your position.*
  3. Have a valid Class 3 Medical Exam

* Even if your position does not require it, attendance at Webelos Outdoor or Outdoor Leadership Skills training is strongly recommended.
