Voyageur Trace Kick-off – News & Notes, 8/18/08

Event Chair, Ken Fatz addresses the audience at the Voyageur Trace Kick Off!

The Voyageur Trace District Kick-off brought our entire district's resources together for a great night of sharing information and promoting the 2008-09 school year’s activities.

Chaired by District Commissioner, Ken Fatz, the Kick-off had the best attendance in the 15 years of the Voyageur Trace District.

Some key stats of our attendance:

District Support Council Support
Committee Members: 23 Council President
Commissioners: 28 2 Council Vice Presidents
District Executive: 1 Council Advancement Chair

Packs 73 and 172 presented the colors and provided the opening ceremony. Pastor Mills of the Westchester Community Church gave the invocation.

Cub Scout Leaders: 37 Packs represented: 23 out of 32 = 72%
Boy Scout Leaders: 30 Troops represented: 23 out of 27 = 85%
Crew Leaders: 3 Varsity Team represented: 1 out of 1 = 100%
Total Unit Leaders: 70 Crews represented: 3 out of 7 = 43%

Total attendance: 127 (Some dual registrations)

This is the first of many gatherings of the Voyageur Trace District this year. Our next event is the September 10th Roundtable for Boy Scout and Cub Scout Leaders. We are looking for 100% unit participation with the roundtables. Our Roundtable program will be of great value to both new and experienced leaders going over activities, training, skills, and sharing ideas.

Be sure to check the council calendar for all of the upcoming training, activities, and future roundtables! Feel free to contact the district leadership or your unit commissioner if you have any questions to improve the quality of programming in the district or your unit.
