Completion of Advancement Report Form 34403

Important Information

In order to be of service to you and your unit, and to be able to process Advancement Reports quickly and correctly, here are some suggestions. Unfortunately, if any of the form’s information is omitted, the posting of your advancement information will be delayed because your form will be returned to you for completion.

1. The top left box of the form needs to have all of the lines and boxes filled in. This applies to all packs, troops, teams, crews, and ships that are submitting a form.

2. Half way down the form, on the left side, there is a line that should have a signature on it. This line is just above the area for insertion of the scout advancement information. The signature should be of the Advancement Chair for packs and troops, the Advisor for crews, and the Skipper for ships.

3. For Troops who are submitting any rank advancement information on the form, there should be two additional signatures to the right of the Advancement Chair’s signature. These signatures should be from two additional people, besides the advancement chair, who served on the Board of Review.

4. For Crews, the advancement form must be completed for any Venturers who have earned the Silver Award. As with Troop advancement, this requires two signatures from the reviewing committee. For the other Venturing awards, Bronze, Gold, Ranger, and Quartermaster, the Advisor should complete an advancement form in addition to the required Venturing form to ensure that Council records the advancement.

5. For Troops and Crews, be sure and fill in the Board of Review or Committee Review Date in the box to the right of the signature lines for the Board of Review signers.

6. In the scout advancement section, the second column must be completed. The complete date a merit badge is earned must be filled in, including the month, day, and year.
