Our Camps
The Des Plaines Valley Council has two camps in Wisconsin, Camp Shin-go-beek is near Waupaca, WI, and Camp Mach-kin-o-siew is near Rhinelander, WI. We also cooperate with Three Fires Council on the Adventure Camp near Rochelle, IL.
Scout Shop
The Scout Store located at 811 W. Hillgrove is managed by the National Supply Division of the Boy Scouts of America. Hours, contact information, and specials are shown here.
Profiles in Scouting
Describes some of the basic leadership roles that are important in carrying out and supporting the Scouting mission within a Boy Scout Council. The roles are described through the eyes and experiences of one of our own in the Des Plaines Valley Council.

Scouting Programs


Cub Scouts
For boys who are in the first grade through fifth grade (or 7, 8, 9, and 10 years of age).
Boy Scouts
For boys age 11 - 17.
Venturing
For young men and women who are 14 (and have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years of age.
Learning for Life
Learning for Life is designed to support schools and other youth-serving organizations and are designed for all age groups from kindergarten through age 20.
Exploring
Exploring is a worksite-based program for young men and women who are 14 (and have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years old.

Tall Grass District
What's happening in the Tall Grass District, which is located in the southern part of our Council.
Twin Lakes District
What's happening in the Twin Lakes District, which is located in the northern part of our Council.
Voyageur Trace District
What's happening in the Voyageur Trace District, which is located in the central part of our Council.
Order of the Arrow
The Order of the Arrow is the National Honor Society of the Boy Scouts of America.
Venturing Leaders' Council
The Venture Leaders' Council (VLC) is an association of Venturers and Adult Leaders from the crews and ships throughout the Des Plaines Valley Council. It meets monthly for fun and fellowship and to share information.
Commissioners
Commissioners are district and council leaders who  coach and consult with adult leaders of Cub Scout packs, Boy Scout troops, and Venturing crews.

Online learning Center
These courses can help adult leaders deliver quality Scouting experiences to youth. A log-in is required, however anyone may create a user account and view the courses. The Internet rechartering will be open again on November 1, 2008.
