Venturing

Venturing is a youth development program for young men and women who are 14 (and have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years of age.

Venture crews can specialize in a variety of avocation or hobby interests. Venturers like to investigate new and different areas. A local community organization matches the interests of young adults with the people and program resources within its own organization. This could be a local scuba shop to a local church. Venturing programs are developed around six experience levels - Citizenship, Leadership, Fitness, Social, Outdoor and Service.

The elected youth members hold a planning session where each experience level is reviewed. Ideas are generated to be developed for program throughout the year. The August or September program planning meeting of the local district provides youth and adult leaders with information regarding upcoming events and opportunities available to your program.
