Wood Badge Course Registration Form   Wood Badge Dinner, 4/17/13

What is Wood Badge? Wood Badge for the 21st Century is an adult leader training program providing leadership training that you will use in your unit as well as in personal relationships. It is designed to give Scouters the tools they need to provide the highest quality scouting experience for the youth in their units.

It is based on contemporary leadership and team building concepts in use in American business, and is designed for Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Varsity Scout, and Venturing leaders, as well as District and Council leaders.

Many companies have recognized the value of this training to their employees and agree to pay the course fees and/or give time off as part of their employee’s professional development. We have prepared letters to employers that describes the contemporary theories behind the leadership skills developed in Wood Badge. One letter describes the value of the course for educators; one letter describes the value of the course for business employees.

The two weekends of the course start the learning and culminate in a mentored application of what was learned benefiting both Scouting and yourself. Upon completion the Scouter earns those “two tiny wooden beads” that you see worn by many other Scouters.

Wood Badge has been described as “life changing”, “the best thing I have ever done”, “important”, and oddly enough – FUN.
Who should attend? Cubmasters, Scoutmasters, Venturing leaders and all their assistants who want to provide the best Scouting experience for their youth members.

Unit committee members who want to be sure that their Scouts are getting all that they can from Scouting.

Commissioners, Council and District committee members who want to be sure that we are all "delivering the promise."
