|Wood Badge Course Registration Form||Wood Badge Dinner, 4/17/13|
We donít want finances to stand in the way of a Scouter wishing to participate in Wood Badge. Scholarship assistance is available for course participants from various sources.
The Council has some funds available, for information contact Tony Roth at Tony.Roth@Scouting.org or 708-354-1111.
Many unit committees or chartering organizations offer help to their unit leadership to defray this expense since they understand that a better trained leader provides a better program to the youth they serve. Scouters have also found that their union local, fraternal organization or other such affiliations may be willing to assist when asked.
The AFL-CIO offers some scholarships as well as the Veteran of Foreign Wars, their applications are linked on this page. Included also are links to informational letters you can provide to your employer to help inform them about the value of Wood Badge to them.
The AFL-CIO Wood Badge Scholarship program supports union members who are active in Scouting. Three will be awarded in the Central Region. The deadline for submission is March 31. See the registration form for details.
The VFW Wood Badge Scholarship program supports Veterans of Foreign War members who are active in Scouting. Three will be awarded in the Central Region. The deadline for submission is March 31. See the registration form for details.
The Council has some limited funds set aside as scholarships for our course. Contact Tony Roth at Tony.Roth@Scouting.org for further information.
